My Forest School Values and Aims

At the heart of my Forest School are a set of values that guide everything I do. They shape how we teach, how we learn, and how we connect with one another and the natural world.

Every session is built around these principles — creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring space where children can grow in confidence, curiosity, and care for the world around them.

Connection with Nature

I believe every child should have the chance to connect deeply with the natural world. Through exploring, playing, and caring for our environment, children learn to respect and appreciate nature and discover their place within it.

Nurture and Wellbeing

Children’s emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Forest School provides a calm, supportive space where children can grow in confidence, express themselves freely, and feel valued for who they are.

Curiosity and Discovery

I encourage curiosity and creativity through hands-on experiences. Every stick, stone, and leaf can become a tool for learning and we love watching children follow their own ideas and imaginations.

Resilience and Independence

Through challenges, exploration, and outdoor adventures, children learn to take safe risks, solve problems, and build resilience. We celebrate mistakes as part of learning and growth.

Community and Kindness

Forest School is built on teamwork, respect, and kindness. We learn together, help one another, and celebrate our shared successes creating a strong sense of belonging.

Sustainability and Stewardship

From growing our own food to caring for wildlife, I teach children the importance of looking after our planet. Small actions can make a big difference and it starts right here, in the forest.

Above all, I strive to nurture teamwork, kindness, and community spirit. By learning together, helping one another, and celebrating each other’s successes, children gain a sense of belonging and connection that stays with them far beyond the forest.
